Course and Outcome of Clinical Care Within and Across YNHH Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Clinics

We plan to review all patient visits conducted at the Yale IOP programs, Interventional Psychiatry, and Continuing Care between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2025 involving psychiatric treatment. We hope to examine the following information:

We seek to examine a dataset that contains detailed data from all YNHH emergency room visits from 2013-2025 (~6 million cases) with all measures collected over the last 2 years of YNHH intensive outpatient clinics, which can be married to the ER data set to examine the relationship between treatment progress and trajectories and prior (and ultimately subsequent) emergency service use.

  • Demographic information (sex, age, etc.)

  • Adult and Adolescent YNHH IOP program visit(s) information

  • Interventional Psychiatry visit(s) information

  • Continuing Care visit(s) information

  • general health history (current and past diagnoses, including mental & physical health, current prescribed medications, current & past substance use history)

  • safety information (access to firearms, past and current suicide attempts & self-harm behaviors, behavioral notes)

We hope to examine these outcomes at the following locations and tracks:

  • Branford, New Haven, and Hamden

  • Adolescent General and Adolescent DBT

  • Adult DBT, Adult General, Adult co-occurring, Adult MDT, Transitional Aged Youth DBT, Transitional Aged Youth General

  • Continuing Care

  • Interventional Psychiatry
